West Wateree school district to hold meetings on redistricting

Parents with a child who attends either Blaney Elementary or Doby’s Mill Elementary should be aware of two meetings next week concerning the West Wateree elementary redistricting proposal being considered by the school board for next school year.

The first meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 in the multipurpose room at Blaney Elementary, and the second one will take place on Thursday, Feb. 4 in the multipurpose room at Doby’s Mill Elementary.

At each meeting, a detailed map of the proposal will be on display starting at 6 p.m. A brief overview will be provided at 6:30 p.m., followed by time for questions and discussion .Parents interested in receiving specific input on attendance lines and grandfathering as well as other areas of interest may want to attend one of these meetings.

The school board will use feedback from these meetings to make a decision on the Doby’s Mill and Blaney attendance lines later in February.
