West Town Bakery, led by Executive Pastry Chef Christopher Teixeira (former Pastry Chef at Sixteen in the Trump Tower), has launched a new chocolate line for Valentine’s Day 2014. A first-time launch for the bakery, their Valentine lineup consists of Heart Shaped Macarons, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Assorted Truffles and Seasonal Lollipops. Chef Teixeira explains his vision for this year’s Valentine offering as “taking popular pastry and chocolate trends and transforming them with a personal and unique flare for each season and holiday.”

This year’s Valentine week at West Town Bakery is all about the macarons. Chef Teixeira has designed a gift box offering 12 beautifully crafted macarons in three different flavors: vanilla cake, strawberry and chocolate ganache. The macarons are laid on a bed of white chocolate curls.

Not only are these macarons works of art, all three flavors were exquisite with the perfect ratio of a crisp outer shell and smooth filling; the texture was perfectly on point. Chicago Ave's West Town location started selling these gorgeous bites this past Sunday, and the downtown bakery located in the ACME Hotel Company started serving them today, February 11.

Skip the generic store bought sweetheart candies with candid phrases and chocolate roses this Valentine’s Day, and stop by West Town Bakery for a box of heart shaped macarons. A box of 12 is only $14.95. Fellow procrastinators, don’t wait too long as there is only a limited supply.
