West Palm Beach man arrested for trying to hang his dog from a tree

Henry Reginald Johnson was arrested on Thursday and charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly tried to hang his pregnant one-year-old pit bull from a tree. A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department officer arrived at Johnson's home on the 4700 block of Hairland Drive and found the dog lying on the ground with a leash next to her.

According to wptv.com, the neighbor observed Johnson, 37, walk the dog named Trinity outside and a few moments later heard the dog screaming in pain. When the woman looked out, she observed Johnson draping the dog's leash over a tree branch lifting the dog a few feet off the ground. The dog yelped and struggled and was able to slip out of her collar and fall to the ground.

The Pulp reports Trinity may have been hanging from the tree for at least three minutes.
