West Metro Fire Rescue has postponed the 16th annual Family Fire Muster that was planned for this coming Saturday due to poor weather conditions currently being forecast for the weekend. As stated on the West Metro Fire Rescue website, " West Metro made the decision to cancel the event because we do not believe we can safely operate it in rain and lightning conditions which are forecasted beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. West Metro's goal is to provide a safe event for the 13,000 people who generally attend. Wet surfaces and lightning are not conducive to providing a safe event for families and children."
The event has been rescheduled to August 21, 2010 and will be held from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood Campus. Volunteers will be needed for August 21. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Susan Saito at ssaito@westmetrofire.org.
