Randolph Street's latest dining destination, Packing House has just opened its doors. The multi-level space houses a 125-seat restaurant on the first floor, a 130-capacity terrace and bar area with a retractable roof, as well as a 50-seat sidewalk café. The Restaurant Row space also features a rooftop bar with a full 360-degree view of the city. Packing House conveys an eclectic luxe vibe that combines the best of New-York-Packing-District-cool with South Beach style, and pours it into a unique Chicago experience.
The second floor features My House, a lounge designed to evoke the comforts of home with an over-the-top urban penthouse vibe. My House can host events for 150-person cocktail parties, or 40-seated guests. My Roof, the Rooftop Lounge, will offer the city's most elegant venue, complete with a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline.
“We wanted to be a little more upscale," said managing partner Donald Whitcomb. "We wanted to get away from the sports bar mentality and the kind of frat-ish, heavy drinking crowd.”
Featuring modern American cuisine with a Mediterranean influence, guests can look forward to being served in the elegant dining room or alfresco in the summertime. The kitchen will be lead by Amanda Barnes who has spent time at The Purple Pig, Moto, and The Publican. Packing House will also feature mixology mastery at the indoor-outdoor bar and terrace.
Packing House is located at 1113 W. Randolph Street in Chicago. For more information, please call (312) 929-4787 or visit online at www.packinghousechicago.com.
