West Grove farmer authors vegetable cookbook

Jenny Loustou, the co-owner of Guinea Hen Garden of West Grove has written a new cookbook entitled, The Farmer’s Market Guide: With Identification Guide and Recipes that focuses on uses for vegetables and herbs found at a farmer’s market.  The book includes numerous color photographs for identifying vegetables and herbs, along with simple recipes to introduce people to the delicious variety of seasonal and locally grown vegetables available at their neighborhood farmer’s market.

Jenny has always enjoyed cooking and firmly believes in the healthy benefits associated with eating ample fresh vegetables.  The inspiration to create this cookbook emerged from her own experiences as a vendor of herbs and vegetables at the Kennett Square Farmer’s Market.  She was amazed at how many of the same questions people asked her about produce, questions like, “What’s this?” or “What do you do with a leek?”  Jenny compiled easy recipes to encourage anyone, even those not savvy in the kitchen, to try cooking new vegetables.

The cookbook arrives on book shelves by March 2012 through Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. of Atglen, Pennsylvania.  Jenny will be selling the book at her stall at the Kennett Square Farmer’s Market, but it can also be ordered directly from the publisher at info@schifferbooks.com or purchased at your local book dealers. Get inspired and prepare yourself for a fresh and tasty experience.
