Whether you know the rules of hockey and how to play, the Wesleyan Cardinals and Connecticut College Camels played an exciting game on Saturday, January 19th at 7 p.m. at the Freeman Athletic Center. The all women's hockey teams battled it out for three sessions at the at Spurrier Snyder Rink with the final score the Camels 4 and Cardinals 1. The action packed game was well attended by adults, college students, and children.
The Synder Spurrier Rink was constructed in 1970. In 2004, it was expanded to include a concession stand, walkway, and new dasher boards. The arena can seat about 1,500 people. Many local high school and college teams play and practice at this site. The next home game for the Wesleyan women's team is on February 16th at 3 p.m. They will play the Trinity College Team from Hartford, Connecticut. The Wesleyan Men's Team plays the next home game on February, 8 at 7 p.m. They play Bowdoin College team. On Feb 9th at 4 p.m. the team plays Colby College. The games take place at the Synder Spurrier Rink. On Feb. 15th the team plays Trinity College at 7 p.m. For a complete list of all men's hockey games visit the site.
The hockey games are a great game for high school and college kids to attend. Anyone interested in learning more about the sport will find the games very educations.
