With a franchise like “The Expendables,” it’s all about raising the bar and making an even more explosive impact than the previous installment. This is why rumors began to circulate last year that production wanted to add on Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes to the third chapter. In an interview, Chan seemed to like the idea and was likely to join the cast. On Friday, Jan. 25, however, Cinemablend reports that nothing is set in stone yet and they are still trying to bring on Chan, as well as Wesley Snipes, and even Nicolas Cage.
“Expendables” star Dolph Lundgren, who has played Gunnar Jensen in both films, revealed that production is still working hard on adding big names to the upcoming movie. “I don’t know anything for sure,” Lundgren told the source. “I have heard that they do want Wesley Snipes. They want Jackie Chan. Nicolas Cage, I have heard too. But we don’t know what is going on just yet.”
“The Expendables 3” is expected in theaters summer 2014.
