Just one day after a report about new photos showing Justin Bieber smoking a blunt, along with his friend Lil Za, comes a Saturday report indicating there are also images that show the pop star, his friends Lil Za (again) and Lil Twist (who was seen at the earlier Jan. 2 blunt-smoking event), possibly imbibing in sizzurp.
The photos show Bieber and "the boys" (Lil Za and Lil Twist) at a table rolling up blunts. That's not the biggest news, though, as Bieber and the boys have been reported smoking weed before, with photos of the Jan. 2 party widely circulated.
What's more significant is that also on the table, as they were rolling the blunt, were two sets of double cups. That is a known style use to consume sizzurp, one which was made popular by Lil Wayne. Indeed, there are too many Lil's involved.
Sizzurp, for those unaware, is one of the numerous slang terms used for a drug concoction popular in the hip-hop community. Wikipedia says:
Its main ingredient is prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine. Cough syrup is typically mixed with ingredients such as Sprite soft drink or Mountain Dew and pieces of Jolly Rancher candy. The purplish hue of purple drank comes from dyes in the cough syrup.
There are numerous slang terms for the mix, including purple drank, sizzurp, lean, syrup, drank, barre, purple jelly, Texas tea, and Tsikuni.
There's more than just the double cup evidence on the table. In one of the photos, Bieber is seen drinking out of a double cup. The report says, though, that "In the pics, we don't see anyone present actually consuming the drug," which is a confusing statement, but could mean that it's not clear what Bieber is taking.
However (or perhaps, naturally), sources connected to Bieber adamantly deny he uses sizzurp. On the other hand, based on recent -- and multiple -- photos, it seems obvious he smokes pot.
Although the report said there were images showing the above scenes, it did not post any. It also didn't directly indicate that the images were being shopped, unlike the Friday report of Bieber and Lil Za smoking blunts on Thursday.
Codeine is a narcotic, and a controlled substance like marijuana (although many believe pot should be legalized). Bieber might want to be careful if he wants to maintain his fan-friendly body. According to Wikipedia, some users report that the large amount of sugar in sizzurp causes weight gain, tooth decay, and other issues.
