North Carolina: Players are practicing today as The Wells Fargo Golf Championship will begin this week. Official play is set to begin Thursday.
Last years winner, Derek Ernst, is a favorite for those attempting to predict a champion this year.
Other top athletes in the running are Jimmy Walker, Jim Furyk, Justin Rose, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, and Rickie Fowler.
The golfer that wins at Quail Hollow will get $1,206,000, and the total purse is $6,900,000.
The Quail Hollow Club course in Charlotte, N.C. is a par 71 course.
Derek Ernst actually won last year with -8.
A tricky part of the course everyone will be watching is the 17th hole, where the ball must make it an impressive 221 yards over water to find its home.
Just after the 17th hole, is the hole thought to be the "one of the hardest finishing holes on the PGA Tour", according to Golf Monthly writer Fergus Bisset.
Phil Mickelson has notoriously been critical of this course, which has a rich heritage from being designed by George Cobb to having modifications done in 1986 by famous golfer, Arnold Palmer.
Bisset said the winner of the course will be the golfer that drives the ball well and picks up shots on long holes in a tour preview article today.
Fresh from making second in the Masters, Jonas Blixt, will be trying hard to be noticed this week.
A private club, Quail Hollow was opened by James J. Harris on April 13, 1959 and has been the venue for this tournament for 11 years.
Spectators wishing to visit the event are encouraged to arrive early and have plan, especially making sure they are ready for the weather forecast.
It may also be more enjoyable for spectators to find out when their favorite golfers are playing and follow them.
