Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announces 2014 Family Fun Series

The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa released the line-up for the 2014-2015 Clover Stornetta Family Fun Series yesterday. The shows for next season include eight educational and interactive performances ranging from acrobats to neon puppetry.

“With the Clover Stornetta Family Fun series, the Center is able to introduce young audiences to the performing arts and provide a venue for children to discover the world around them, experience new cultures and learn important life lessons,” says Executive Director Rick Nowlin. “Because of the continued support of Clover Stornetta, we are able to provide tickets at an accessible price, to allow as many families as possible to participate.

The new season starts Friday October 10th and runs through spring of 2015. Performances in the Family Fun Series include a pre-show arts and crafts activity that pertains to the theme of the performance as well as other activities from local sponsors.

Friday, October 10, 2014-Schoolhouse Rock Live! performed by Childsplay. This performance is based on the hit educational Saturday morning cartoon series.

Friday, November 7, 2014-Peter Gros of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. Peter Gros introduces exotic animals, videos, and inspirational stories from his work.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015- The Peking Acrobats®. China’s most gifted tumblers, contortionists, jugglers, cyclists, and gymnasts will have the audience captivated.

Friday, February 27, 2015- Junie B. Jones by TheatreworksUSA. Based on Barbara Park’s adored children’s books, the show follows the adventures of Junie B. Jones, a feisty, outspoken first-grader.

Wednesday, March 18, 2015- Sleeping Beauty by American Family Theater. This classic features an amazing set, costumes and of course well-loved songs.

Tuesday, April 15, 2015- Dino-Light performed by Corbian Visual Arts and Dance in collaboration with Lightwire Theater. Dino-Lite utilizes puppetry, technology, neon lights and dance and was featured on “America’s Got Talent”.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015- Fancy Nancy The Musical by Vital Theatre Company. Based on the popular children’s books by Jane O’Connor, the fun-filled musical brings Fancy Nancy and her friends to life on the stage.

Sunday, May 17, 2015-Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve! This performance is based on the popular shorts airing daily on the Disney Channel. Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve presents music that is enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

Packages of 4-show and 8-show season tickets are now available online, by phone (707-546-3600) or at the box office. Season ticket packages range from $50 - $80 for children, and $68 - $112 for adults and go on sale Friday, August 23 at noon. Tickets for individual shows range from $17 - $21 for adults and $12 - $16 for children.
