Wellness Pet Food supports animal causes with Facebook campaign

Wellness Pet Food is giving back this holiday season with the help of Facebook users. They have selected two animal charities who will benefit from their “You Click, We Donate” campaign that runs through January 16, 2014.

The nonprofit organizations supported are The Cat House on the Kings Cat Sanctuary & Adoption Center and the Green Chimneys Farm & Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

"We're excited about this holiday donation," said Chanda Leary-Coutu, Wellness marketing communications manager. "We have an active, engaged Facebook community, and this campaign gives our fans a chance to take part in the generous spirit of the season. We hope that this initiative helps bring awareness to these deserving charities."

To participate, Facebook users can visit the Wellness Pet Food Facebook page and select the "You Click We Donate" tab. A user can also access the campaign directly online here.

Those new to Wellness on Facebook will be asked to "like" the page in order to proceed to the entry page. From there, users can quickly sign up, and Wellness will donate $1.00 on their behalf. The entry page features photos of The Cat House on the Kings founder Lynea Lattanzio and Green Chimneys founders Sam and Myra Ross, as well as additional information on the organizations.

"The Cat House on the Kings relies strictly on donations from the public to carry out its mission," said founder Lynea Lattanzio. "The money donated will make a difference by allowing us to care for the cats at our facility and offer spay and neuter services to control pet overpopulation in the area."

Wellness Pet Food will announce the total donation amount at the conclusion of the campaign. Wellness Pet Food prides themselves on selecting nature's finest ingredients and combining them with unique super nutrients to help support your pet’s whole body health and well-being. Visit the Wellness website for more details, and follow their activities on Facebook and Twitter @WellnessPetFood.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center. Their mission is to place rescued cats and kittens into loving, permanent homes; to provide a safe, happy and healthy home for unwanted cats and kittens in a unique, no-cage facility; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. The Cat House relies entirely on donations from the public to carry out its mission.

Green Chimneys is a multi-faceted nonprofit organization located in New York state. The Farm & Wildlife Center is home to over 200 farm animals, horses, dogs, cats, and permanently injured or imprinted birds of prey and other wildlife.

As a primary component of Green Chimneys’ programming for children with special needs, animal rescue and rehabilitation enables animals to thrive in the care of the Green Chimneys staff and students, and play a role in supporting educational, therapeutic programs.
