'Well-behaved kids' discount: Restaurant also gave free ice cream

A "well-behaved kids" discount was given to a lucky customer by servers at Sogno di Vino restaurant near Seattle, Wash., Today reports Feb. 7. Reddit user, Laura King, shared her experience on the Internet about receiving the kind gesture. Her children -- ages 2, 3, and 8 -- also got a free bowl of ice cream to share.

"If only all restaurants did this for people with kids," King wrote.

As many people can relate, children can be a handful in restaurants. Servers see all types of behaviors in children and appreciate good conduct from them. They don't typically hand out "well-behaved kids" discounts, but apparently the restaurant thought this family deserved $4 off their bill.

The restaurant's owner -- Rob Scott -- said he routinely grants complimentary desserts to customers with well-behaved kids. This is the first time the discount was printed on the bill, however. Scott recalled the children in this instance being especially good about saying "please" and "thank you."

"We don't expect handouts for acting respectful of the folks who bring us our food," King added in her Reddit post. "But it certainly makes you feel good when someone else notices your kids in a positive light."
