They said it was going to happen, and it did. On New Year's Eve, on Monday, Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris became man and wife.
There was, of course, some doubt: The couple is 60 years apart in age. Hefner is 86 and Harris is 26. They had also been engaged before, but Harris turned into a runaway bride. Harris called off the nuptials in June of 2011, only five days before the wedding was to take place.
This time, though, it was said that after reconciling, they were happier than ever. Notably, it was reported that the time apart helped Harris learn to stand on her own two feet and be independent.
Finally, things seemed to advance quickly. The announcement of a new wedding was made in early December, and just a few days later the pair went to a courthouse to obtain a marriage license.
Hefner and Crystal got hitched around 7 p.m. in front of a small group of family and friends. It was a much more intimate gathering than was originally planned for their 2011 wedding.
With that, Harris became Hefner's third wife. Crystal Harris was Playboy's Miss December in 2009.
They were able to combine celebrations in such a way as to make the reception as wonderful as you might expect. The couple combined their reception with the annual New Year's Eve party at the Playboy mansion.
