It’s still over three months until Christmas, but a burglar pulled a Santa Claus move by hopping along roofs after attempting to break into a San Francisco’s bank’s ATM. On Friday, September 20, this woebegone man ran to the roof of a nearby apartment building in making his getaway and fell into the unlucky apartment. My first question would have been: Who knew ATMs delivered?
This ATM robber’s name was not released, but police did say he only weighed about 230 pounds. That’s not extremely obese, but with a really weak roof, well, down he goes! Police also explained how Sir Withdrawal-to-go tried to use a crowbar to bust into the Bank of America branch’s ATM, located in the Portola neighborhood, at approximately 4:00 a.m. He entered the bank through a ventilation shaft which, of course, set off a silent alarm. Once Santa-in-September eyed police, though, he ran like sprinter-on-the-roof to escape.
The man did not end up with any money, and he may have made any small children in the apartment cry. They probably didn’t even have any milk and cookies ready. Now, somebody please make a country song out of this story!
