A girl who is addicted to eating deodorant will eat up to 15 sticks a month, she claims. The 19-year-old has been doing this since she was four and doctor’s have warned her of the dangers of consuming deodorant, but it hasn’t stopped her, reports Digital Spy on March 1, 2013.
While the teen, whose is only known by her first name Nicole, eats mainly the deodorant sticks, she does spray deodorant on her tongue from time to time. She says that her mind tells her to eat the grooming product and she can’t help but obey what it tells her.
Nicole said that she has tried to give up eating the under arm deodorant for a week, but she got sick and “had bad headaches.” When she runs out of her bizarre snack, she panics. She does suffer from stomach cramps after eating the stick deodorant.
Nicole was featured on “My Strange Addiction, a show from TLC, recently with her bizarre addiction. Another woman who also appeared on that show is addicted to eating cat hair. Lisa, a 43-year-old woman, claims she’s addicted to eating her cat’s hair. She made this claim saying she likes to eat her cat’s hairballs at least once every two hours.
This odd addiction that Lisa has entails playing with the hair before ingesting it. She also likes to clean her cat by licking it, much like a mother cat does to its young. Lisa calls it a “bonding thing” that she does with her cat.
These bizarre addictions are enough to make the normal folks sick, just by thinking about chewing on that solid deodorant stick or licking the hair and dirt off a cat. This is why the show is called “My Strange Addiction,” because it is very strange!
