Fresh off the trail at the annual Charm City Run Boordy Vineyards 5K (stay tuned for an update on that one soon), it's the return of the weekly wine calendar!

Today's Washington, DC Groupon of the day is a Tour (lasting between 90 min and 2 hours) and Premier Wine Tasting at Potomac Point Winery in Stafford, VA for $16. Check it out!

Wine Up Wednesdays at DeJon Winery (5-9)
This free event features the wines of Baltimore County's newest vineyard and food from Maggitti's. Stop by, grab a glass, and let the day melt away. For more information, please visit their website.

Sustainable Happy Hour at Boordy Vineyards (4-8)
Enjoy wine and music at the winery while picking up items from the Farmers' Market. The event is free, and a list of vendors can be found here.

Wine and Song at the Wine Market
"Who does not love wine, women and song / Remains a fool his whole life long." (attributed to Martin Luther). With that in mind, the Wine Market in Federal Hill is offering a different approach to tasting. Instead of the usual cheeses (of which I'm sure will be plenty), they're offering a series of aural pairings for the wines presented. Tickets are $25 and available at their website.

An Evening of Top MD Wine at Clementine
Can you believe it's almost September already? Jeez! To celebrate, head over to Clemtine on Harford Road for adiscussion and tasting of the top wines from the 2010 Governor's Cup paired with the yummy food of Clementine. Tickets are $48; for more information or to purchase, please call (410) 252-WINE.

Though not exactly Wine-specific, the Baltimore Junior Association of Commerce's annual The Event is not to be missed. This year, the theme is "Speakeasy, Be Heard," and it's a 1920s-themed Black Tie Optional party to be held at The Belvedere (vintage or themed dressing is encouraged). Tickets are on sale now for $75; get yours at

If you have an event you'd like to include in an upcoming edition of the weekly wine calendar, please email me at with the details.
