Those of you that have been visiting the Shonen Jump website lately may have noticed a counter on the site and now that time is up Viz Media has revealed that their weekly digital manga has moved on from the alpha stage and with that some big changes.
Viz Media has been teasing this lately but the biggest change to Weekly Shonen Jump, aside from the name, look and logo, is that the digital magazine now has the latest chapters of their manga debuting on the same day as its Japanese Weekly Shonen Jump counterpart. The magazine also made the jump from the rental model and now members own the issues.
With the first issue of the new Weekly Shonen Jump available today the magazine also features the debut of a new series, the superhero comedy “One-Punch Man”, from writer ONE with artwork by Yusuke Murata. The first “Yu-Gi-Oh!” card of the year for annual Weekly Shonen Jump subscribers was also revealed today, the “Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo”.
