It was another one of those weeks where Nintendo dominated the news. There were a few other interesting stories lingering around as well, but Nintendo topped the charts. Anyway, let’s get to this week’s News, Games, Geeks.

  • Microsoft bought the rights to Gears of War
  • Square Enix launched a voting system to nominate one of three indie games for them to support
  • Namco Bandai switched their name to Bandai Namco
  • Nintendo announced several things: DS games are coming to the Wii U eShop, they will start working on Mobile games, they will be lending their characters to "new partners", and a new health based system will be out by 2016
  • Microsoft is offering $100 for any PS3 to then be used to upgrade into a Xbox One
  • The new list of PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold perks were revealed
  • The new PS Vita Slim model is launching in the UK next week with no confirmation of a U.S. release
  • A new model of the OUYA launched for 129.99
  • A new Dreamcast game was released this week, Redux Dark Matter
