How can you resist a face like that?
The Denver Dumb Friends League now has a weekly adoption center on Denver’s 16th Street Mall. Pets of all shapes, sizes and breeds are available for adoption in the Barkin’ Boutique & Bakery at the Pavilions.
The adoption center offers the people of Denver a chance to see animals up for adoption they wouldn’t normally come into contact with, so it’s great way to find animals new homes.
It’s also a lot of fun for locals who are normally caught up in the hustle and bustle of downtown to stop by and visit with the animals. Or as Richard Mijares, a regular visitor who works in the area and brings his own dog down for some playtime says, it’s a chance for people to “get their furry fix”.
If you’re feeling the felines, now through the rest of October there is a special adoption fee of only $25 for all cats, plus when you adopt one adult cat the adoption fee is waived on the second adult cat (one year or older).
The adoption center is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. right inside the Barkin’ Boutique & Bakery at the Pavilions, located at 16th and Glenarm.
Also, be sure not to miss the ‘Santa Picks’ at the same location for the first three weeks of December on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. Santa will be there helping Christmas wishes come true for both the animals looking for a good home and for families looking to give them one.
