Weekend wrap-up: Team Penske comes up big in Detroit

Team Penske drivers Will Power and Helio Castroneves shared the honors in the Dual in Detroit, while Brad Keselowski was runner-up at Dover to Jimmie Johnson. Kyle Busch saw his dreams of a Dover sweep hit the wall early in Sunday’s race, while Top Fuel rookie Richie Crampton earned his first Wally at Englishtown.

Sprint Cup Series – Jimmie Johnson dominated the field Sunday at Dover International Speedway, leading 272 laps in the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks. Brad Keselowski finished second, followed by Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin. Kyle Busch, who was looking for a sweep at Dover, finished 42nd after contact with Bowyer put him in the wall.

Nationwide Series – Busch was victorious in the Nationwide Series Buckle Up 200 at Dover on Saturday, edging Trevor Bayne and Joey Logano. Kenseth and Chase Elliott finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Camping World Truck Series – Busch took the checkered flag in Friday’s Lucas Oil 200 at Dover, beating Ryan Blaney and Johnny Sauter to the finish line for his fourth win in as many starts this season. Brandon Jones and Joey Coulter rounded out the top five.

Verizon IndyCar Series, race No. 1 – Will Power beat Graham Rahal and Tony Kanaan in Saturday’s first race in the Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit at Belle Isle Park. Justin Wilson was fourth, while Helio Castroneves finished fifth.

Verizon IndyCar Series, race No. 2 – Castroneves climbed the frontstretch catchfence on Sunday after winning the second race of the Dual in Detroit, leading to a Team Penske sweep of the weekend. Power finished second, followed by Charlie Kimball, Scott Dixon and James Hinchcliffe.

NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series – Top Fuel rookie Richie Crampton earned his first Wally in the Toyota NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. Cruz Pedregon (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also picked up wins at Englishtown.
