2012 Sprint Cup champ Brad Keselowski wrapped up his first win of the 2013 Cup season in last Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Read about this and more below.
Sprint Cup Series – Keselowski led twice for 11 laps, including the final nine, to take the win over Kasey Kahne in the Bank of America 500. Matt Kenseth remains the Chase for the Sprint Cup leader after finishing third, one spot ahead of Jimmy Johnson in fourth. Kyle Busch finished fifth.
Nationwide Series – Kyle Busch beat Austin Dillon in Friday night’s Dollar General 300. Sam Hornish Jr. finished third, followed by Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth.
Syracuse 200 – Billy Dunn outlasted the rest of the 45-car field to win Sunday’s Syracuse 200 big-block modified race, the final event of Super DIRT Week XLII. One day after running out of fuel while leading the 358-modified race at the Syracuse Mile on the New York State Fairgrounds, Dunn’s crew made sure the same didn’t happen again on Sunday, bringing him in on Lap 167 for a top-off, but it did happen to a number of front-runners as the laps wound down – Brett Hearn (who won Saturday’s race), Stewart Friesen and Jimmy Phelps among them. Larry Wight finished second, followed by Ryan Godown, Tim Hindley and Duane Howard.
