Joe Gibbs Racing dominated the NASCAR racing action at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama this weekend, taking home the trophies in both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series.

Nationwide Series – Elliott Sadler took his first win of the season and first win at the 2.66-mile superspeedway in Saturday’s Aaron’s 312. Sadler led nine times for a race-high 40 laps and moved into second-place in the points standings, one point behind Chase Elliott and two points ahead of Smith. Chris Buescher finished second, followed by Regan Smith in third; David Ragan and Sam Hornish Jr. finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Joe Nemechek, JJ Yeley, Landon Cassill, David Starr and Trevor Bayne rounded out the top 10.

Sprint Cup Series – Denny Hamlin led six times for 12 laps on his way to his first Talladega Superspeedway win in Sunday’s Aaron’s 499, putting Hamlin in the Chase for the Sprint Cup in spite of missing a race with an eye injury earlier in the season. Greg Biffle finished second, followed by Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers and AJ Allmendinger. Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Larson and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rounded out the top 10.
