Power-pop quartet, The Greatcoats have released their debut EP, "Find Someone Else" last month and are performing the new material at their EP release at Frank Friday. They will be performing with The Sweet Nuthin, Jason Ludwig and Featherface. Examiner had a chance to catch a bit of The Greatcoats set last month at Hotel Vegas. We liked their sound which was influenced by acts as far ranging as The Beatles to Ben Folds to Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.
David Tenczar, founder of The Greatcoats was living in New York when he began writing the material that would evolve into "Find Someone Else". After a stint in Los Angeles where he learned various recording techniques, the native Texan returned home to begin recording and put together a band to perform the material live. He enlisted the help of his childhood friends, Brandon Stein and Jay Cesak and later added guitarist, Greg Rosenbaum.
