Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30, 2014 from 8 am to 1 pm there will be more than 3,000 native and desert adapted plants for sale. These are varieties that are not available at local nursery outlets.

The garden experts will also be there to answer questions and give advice on desert gardening.

If you expect to buy a lot of plants bring a wagon or cart to carry them out to the parking lot.

Members of the Spring Preserve will have early access and preview from 7-8 am on Saturday.

Springs Preserve is located at 333 S. Valley View Blvd.

Call 702-822-7700 for more information.

See the accompanying slideshow of plants in bloom along the Botanical Gardens’ walk at the Springs Preserve this week. Take along a camera to get pictures of flowers and garden ornaments with your family.

The playground area and garden walk is always free and open for all ages to enjoy.

Don’t forget about the Orchid Show at the West Charleston Library by the Greater Las Vegas Orchid Society. The Orchid Show and lectures are scheduled for Saturday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm. I was at the library Friday morning and they were setting up a beautiful display of unique orchids.

The West Charleston Library is located at 6301 West Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV.
