This first weekend of May will see a focus on health and wellness in western Waukesha county. The weekend be filled with events that are appropriate to this season of Spring, growth and new life. This is a chance for people to really explore health and think about healthy lifestyles as they get ready for the summer.
The first event is the LakeWalk for Cancer. This event supports the ProHealthcare foundation and raises money for cancer care. The walk event runs from 8-11am on Saturday May 3rd at Fowler Lake in Oconomowoc. Details are available at LakeWalk.org.
Abundant Joy Yoga & Wellness is sponsoring a health fair from 11am-3pm on Saturday May 3rd. The event is at the corner of Hwy 16 and Brown st. in Oconomowoc. The Health Fair will include free classes, demos and health lectures. Healthy foods will be available as well as artists and fun activities for the kids. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is sponsoring a walk for MS. This event supports efforts to help people living with Multiple Sclerosis. The Walk event starts at 9am on Saturday May 3rd at St. Paul’s Lutheran school, 210 E Pleasant Ave. Oconomowoc. Details can be found at the National MS society.
Saturday May 3rd is also the date of the first of the year Summer Farmers Market in downtown Oconomowoc. The market will be open from 7am till noon and is located in the south municipal parking lot behind 175 E. Wisconsin ave.
