Start your Saturday morning off with a little exercise at Rachael's Paws & Purrs 5K & 10K. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. on the Blackwater Creek trail below Amazement Square.

Day in the Park is Lynchburg's longest-running family festival. Head to Miller Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to enjoy a free day of fun for the entire family.
There will be bounce houses, pony rides, face painting and lots of fun for the kids. Parents will enjoy the variety of foods available for sale and the many informational booths.
Lynchburg Art Festival will be held just around the corner from Miller Park at E.C. Glass High School. Check out the works of some of the area's finest artists from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Music for a Miracle will be held at Simons Run, just past A.C. Moore. Enjoy a family-friendly day of fun and music from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to benefit the Challenged Sports Exchange and Children's Miracle Network.
Kids 12 and under are admitted free and adults pay only $5, all to support two great causes. Stop in for an hour or stay for the day.
Head to Ivy Creek Park on Saturday and Sunday and rent a canoe or kayak from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. While you're there, check out the kid-friendly activities presented by the Central Virginia Master Naturalists.
The RiverFlick Film Series ends on Saturday night with "Goonies" showing on the big outdoor screen across from Amazement Square. Bring your blankets and chairs for this free movie.
Glow in the Dark Golf takes place every Friday and Saturday night from 9 to 11 p.m. at Tiny Town Golf, 7427 Timberlake Road. Enjoy a fun time for the family after dark at Tiny Town.
The 44th Annual Down-Home Fly In and Family Fun Day will be held at New London Airport. The fun begins at 8 a.m. and continues all day.
Kids will enjoy games, including Bomb Drop. The entire family will enjoy seeing the aircraft on display, the classic car show and the great food.
There are plenty of college sports this weekend too. Liberty University takes on Morgan State at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Williams Stadium.

Lynchburg College's teams are on the road this weekend. At Randolph College, you can catch the men's soccer team in action as they host Averett on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Sweet Briar College fans can enjoy soccer at noon and field hockey at 3 p.m. on Saturday. With so many colleges located close to home, there are plenty of activities and events to enjoy.
