No surprise here, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” crushed the competition this weekend.
According to RadarOnline, the movie is on its way to having the biggest opening weekend in the movie franchise’s history. The film brought in $61.3 million on Friday, with the filming estimated to make between $125 million to $150 million for the three-day period.
This is almost twice what “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” opened with back in July 2009. The “Half-Blood Prince” brought in $77.8 million during its opening weekend.
The all-time champ is “The Dark Knight,” which made $158.4 million during its opening weekend in 2008.
