Finally there is movement in the stands of the various clubs owing to changing results in the ‘English Premier League’ 2013. Things are taking a toll on the top teams even as the scorecard for most of them predicts that this year the tournament has something new in store for the audience. However, presently the big question is, ‘what are those teams that have disappointed us until now?’
Football is One of the Choicest Games Accepted Globally
The 2012-13 ‘ Barclay's Premier League’ tournament saw Chelsea end up in the third position with a total of 75 points. They statistics reported a plus 36 as ‘goal differential’ which once again proved that the ‘Blues’ is still one of the finest England based teams whose backbone is its consistency.
2013-14 EPL does not support that statement anymore until now. Although Chelsea has a scorecard of 11 points secured in a total of six games, it has taken a fall post a strong start. Chelsea’s score reads 1-2-1 after losing to Everton and drawing against Tottenham and Manchester United. What can be concluded is that this season is disappointing for Chelsea.
While the initial two matches saw Chelsea sore four goals, the next four in line witnessed only three goals. They could not succeed with their strategies in the Everton and Man United matches and against Tottenham all they could do to save their faces is draw the game with a goal in the 64th minute, the final score reading 1-1. Although, expectations are owing to the reputation of the team, there has not been any show of power or aggression in the previous matches of this season. A total of 19 ‘saves’ and 3 ‘clean sheets’ in these six matches has cleared the position of Petr Cech in the defending section suggesting a good chance of turnaround in the next game. But things will only work well if the offense also comes up with a good strategy for attack.
When Manchester United won the 2012-13 EPL cup, there was no other team in the stand that had 10 points to their scorecard. This made them undisputable champs but the scenario has changed completely in the year 2013-14. The stands show that Manchester United is ranked ninth in the Table.
Also called ‘The Red Devils’ the team has collected a total of 10 points in the past seven matches, the score reading 3-1-3. ‘The Red Devils’ have taken in 9 goals and scored 10 which shows a terrible inconsistency in their approach and a very rough future in the scorecard.
The October 5th match however saw Manchester United defeat Sunderland with a score of 2-1, giving a ray of hope to its supporters. The previous two matches witnessed loss for the team against West Bromwich and Manchester City. This is the ‘inconsistency’ that can be the cause of its downfall.
The defense seems to be suffering as the statistics show that ‘the Red Devils’ have allowed a total of 8 goals in 7 matches but in the recent 3 matches have taken in 7 goals against a score of 4 from their side which is terrible.
David De Gea, the goal keeper is not the only one to put the blame on as he too has 2 ‘clean sheets’ to his record but continues to struggle. And despite Robin van Persie’s attractive scorecard of 4 goals, the offense has very little to brag about.
Until the new roster for talent is hung up you can rest assured that it is Man United that will not be able to display its best on the field.
