The second week of Alpenglow's Mountain Festival starts on Sunday, February 23. The week is all about Nordic and backcountry skiing.

Nature's Bakery is the title sponsor for the events. The list of outdoor sponsors in supporting roles is quite impressive. Black Diamond, Arc'Teryx, and Cliff Bar are among them.

The week in the mountains will be full of outdoor adventure. The week starts off with the second Natural History Snowshoe Tour. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe with Will Richardson. The Tahoe Institute for Natural Science is presenting this event. You'll need to get up early for this one. It begins at 8:00 a.m. By 11:00 a.m. it's done.

Also on Sunday, Cliff Bar athlete and Olympian Katerina Nash will lead a Grand Fondo Ski Event. The Fondo will tour through some of North Lake Tahoe's beautiful xc areas. Alpenglow Sports partners with Clif Bar to showcase this event, which starts at 9:00 a.m. and is over at 12:00 p.m.

That's just the beginning of an intense and fun filled week that's all about snow, the fantastic Lake Tahoe outdoors, and cross-country skiing.

The week will end with a Lake Tahoe Nordic Demo Event on March 1. Imagine having the opportunity to take the newest and best skis and gear out for a spin. Take advantage of the clinic that's being offered at well.

You'll want to be at the Tahoe Cross Country at 9:00 a.m. to take full advantage of this day. It's all over at 3:00 p.m.

The best part of all this is that it is free. Sign up for the events though, as space is limited.
