A Daily Word from the Word for Tuesday, February 11, 2014

“Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.” – Job 2:1

This year, 2014, is the year of double portion for God’s people, signified by the number ‘14.’ And the devil, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), is waiting to rob you of your double portion blessing; so don’t you let him!

Sadly, many people want to blame God for not delivering on His promises, which is a lie from the pit of hell! God is not a man Who should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent (Numbers 23:19). And every promise in our faithful Father is “yes” and “amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

If God said this is the year for His double portion (and He did), then I believe Him. I believe what God has spoken: I receive it, I decree it, I declare it, and I stand ready and waiting with arms outstretched in great expectation and anticipation to receive the fullness of every God-given provision with no sorrow added to it! And so should you, family!

This being said, the Lord has been speaking to me over the past two weeks concerning Job 2:1: “And Satan came also among them.” Not just once, but again and again and again. And if this dirty demon has the audacity to hide himself among God’s people who were approaching the very throne room of the Most Holy God, then he surely doesn’t think twice about injecting himself in the mix with those who come to see you—or who you invite in to your home, your bed, and your life.

This very word “among” comes from the Hebrew term tavek (pr. taw-vek), which means “from among, as to take or separate.” It comes from an unused root meaning “to sever” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). Webster’s Dictionary defines “sever” as to cut off (something), to remove or separate (something) by cutting: to end (a relationship, connection, etc.) completely.”

We must be so careful to not give an open door for Satan to come in and take from us, or to cut us off from our God-given provision; or worse yet, cause us to sever our relationship with our Heavenly Father. This septic serpent is so crafty that he will camouflage himself into the most innocent of scenes, situations, and crowds. As one of my brothers from the church likes to say “It’s always an inside job. Satan was on the inside in heaven.” Yes indeed, my brothers and sisters, it is always an inside job.

When you invite people over for a seemingly innocent gathering, is the devil among them? When you engage in conversation, is this crafty con artist hiding behind that subtle word or intimation? When you are watching that “harmless” television show and laughing along with the characters, or listening to that song on the radio, are you opening the door and inviting the one who steals, kills, and destroys, into your spirit? When you are spending money on yourself, have you first given to God what belongs to Him? “But Brother Matt, aren’t you over-reacting?” That is exactly what the devil will have you believe! This subtle deception is the back door you open to allow him to slip in!

Are you tired of things not going right for you, my brother? Is seeing your promise walk out the door as quickly as it arrives, wearing you down, my sister? Then it’s time to seal up those doors and windows, family! Shine the Spotlight of God’s Holy Spirit on those people, situations, conversations, transactions, and goings-on that you engage in each and every day.

It is time to weed out the devil by including God in everything you do. This is your year to receive double, and to take back everything that the devil has stolen from you. This is your season to recover all by relying on the One Who defeated the devil once and for all at the Cross of Calvary, and Who nailed shut every door of the past, every door of lack; and sealed it forever, with His sinless and spotless Blood.

Father, we repent for every time we opened the door for the devil to come in and rob us. No longer will we allow the enemy to plunder us and to take what you have given to us. We call on You today to seal every door to the past, to seal every door of lack in our lives, with the everlasting Blood of Jesus. We call on You for wisdom in every situation and circumstance (James 1:5). We download your Divine strategies into our spirits, so we are always wiser than serpents and gentle as doves (Matthew 10:16). In Jesus Name, we thank You that never again will the devil take from us, because we walk continuously in Your double-portion overflow! Amen and Amen!

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to be careful and purposeful in the company you keep. Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33). Choose to be thoughtful in your words, actions, and deeds. Strive always to please God and not people; for in pleasing people, you will open the door for the enemy to come in to rob, steal, kill, and destroy. And continue to fight the good fight of always operating in God’s Holy Spirit; for God, your Divine Look-out, has already given you the victory!

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

God tells us that we are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Be a blessing to someone by sending them this word of encouragement. If God did not already put someone in your spirit and on your heart that needs to read this uplifting message from above, simply ask your Heavenly Father who to bless on today.
