This week the Wednesday in the Wild program will have a change of venue. It will feature a hike on one of the Delphi Trails. The Monon High Bridge Trail (link) contains a stretch of the old Monon train line. This includes the old train bridge over Deer Creek. Dan McCain, one of the driving forces behind Delphi Historic Trails and the Delphi Canal Center will lead the hike. The program will begin at the Canal Park interpretive Center (link) at 1 p.m. and end at the High Bridge Trail about 3:30 p.m. The Center is about 20 minutes from SR 25 and I 65. Dan will not only speak about the history of the trail, but also future plans. Part of the trail abuts the NICHES property, Mary I Gerard Nature Preserve (link). The hike will afford some great photo-ops. Come a bit early to visit the canal museum.
