"Better to be safe than sorry."  This old English proverb we have all heard many times, but when it comes to your health it has never rang in truer.  From Heart disease and Stroke screenings to simply wearing a condom to prevent STD's.  We all need to learn to take better care of our bodies.

There are those among us who would do anything not to go to the doctor, but what they don't realize is that the small things can be much bigger problems than they imagined. If they just would have went to the doctor for the smaller issues they wouldn't have the bigger issues they are dealing with now.

So, yes it is better to be safe than sorry...

A few symptoms that you shouldn't ignore or put off seeing a doctor for:

  • Right shoulder pain being experienced without prior injury.

  • Shortness of breath without or with minimal exertion.

  • Pain or pressure in the chest. (can also feel like a really bad case of indigestion)

  • Pain between your shoulder blades

  • Headache that has lasted for several hours and or gets worse.

  • Cough lasting for more than 48 hours

  • Fever above 101.0 F

  • Pain with urination

  • Abnormal colored or smelling drainage from any area of the body.

  • Sores that don't seem to heal naturally

If in doubt check it out!!! The symptoms above are all small things that frequently get over looked by lots of people, but can be a sign of major issues. So if you have any of these issues please see your doctor as soon as possible.
