Wednesday Wine Tasting at Division Wines

The first and third Thursday of each month Division Wines in southeast Portland offers an intriguing and engaging wine tasting event.

Whether you're a seasoned wine drinker or just looking for an after work drink, Will and Danyelle are hospitable guides into vinous worlds. For $15 from 6-8 pm, guests can taste around seven wines concerning a certain theme. For instance, one tasting centered around the Veneto region of Italy. For each wine, Will engaged the audience with both a historical backstory as well as tasting notes for each wine. Selections ranged from a bubbly Durello to an almost port-like Amarone Classico.

At a recent tasting, several couples arrived right on time, and enjoyed a seminaresque discussion of the wines of the Veneto region. As more guests trickled in, the ambiance morphed into a congenial, happy hour vibe. Revisiting a wine on the flight was encouraged, and questions were addressed in a friendly non-elitist way. This is a great spot just to talk about wine, whatever your comfort level.
