Atlanta's Sevendust pays a visit to Wooly's in Des Moines' East Village on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. show with openers Gemini Syndrome, Crash Midnight, Sidewise, and Green Death. Sevendust released their tenth studio album in April. Entitled Time Travelers & Bonfires, the album became the eighth album by the band to crack the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and the second Sevendust album to top the Hard Rock chart. Over the years, the quintet has accumulated ten Top 20 singles, including fan favorites like "Praise", "Enemy", "Unraveling", and "Decay" (featured video). Sevendust finished off a spring acoustic tour in late June, and the band is now back to performing "plugged in" shows. Tickets for the Wooly's show are $23 in advance and $25 on the day of the concert. The event will be open to all ages. Americana/folk artist Malcolm Holcombe will perform at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines on Wednesday as part of a concert doubleheader. The North Carolina native will play the 6:30 p.m. early show, following opener Eric Kennedy to the stage. Holcombe released his latest album, entitled Pitiful Blues, yesterday. The show will be a 21-plus event, and it will have a $10 cover charge.

The 10 p.m. late show at the Mews will feature folk pop/rock group Rusty Maples with openers Instants. The Las Vegas band has released two EPs, 2011's Like a Lover Should and 2012's Make Way, and they are currently working on their first full-length album (targeted for the fall). Rusty Maples was voted Las Vegas' "Best Live Band of 2013" by readers of the Las Vegas Weekly. The nightcap is also a 21-plus show, and it will have a $7 cover.
