It's Party Time!
It's no secret that guests at a wedding like to boogie down. And as a bride planning her wedding, it's just one of your many jobs to be sure that the music played at your wedding reception is just the kind that invites such booty-shaking to occur!
However...it can be tough (and a lot of responsibility) to single-handedly come up with each and every song you'd like the band or DJ to play at your reception, so why not leave some of the guesswork up to the guests?
Consider leaving request cards at each of the tables at your wedding reception. Doing so will invite guests to choose the songs that make them most want to dance and be an active participant in the reception. They might choose a great tune that invites the entire reception hall to shake a leg, or maybe they'd rather request a melody that was played at their wedding to spark some romantic memories. In either case, getting the guests involved in the music selection at your reception helps ensure everybody has a most memorable time at your shindig - and isn't that what every bride dreams of?
The cards need not be fancy. You can use anything from index cards cut with trimming scissors for a polished look, blank business cards with the words "Music Requests" written in calligraphy, or if you're the matchy-matchy type, you might have cards printed up that look similar to your invitations and RSVP cards. Whichever style you choose, just be sure to leave 2 - 3 cards per guest at each table along with some pens, and don't forget to let the DJ know your plans so they may allow for the extra songs to be added to their playlist.
Enjoy this fun and interactive way to connect with your guests on your big day. These are the things memories are made of.
