Stressing the importance of having a wedding hair stylist or beauty team coming to you on your wedding day would not be the same without a REAL LIFE scenario.
So here it is:
You wake up at 6am because you cannot sleep, and you say to yourself:
"Today is going to be the best day of my LIFE!!"
You have made a schedule that is perfectly organized and have passed it along to all of your vendors and bridal party, so that everyone can stay on track! The morning schedule looks something like this:
Bridal party (all 10 of you) meet at hair salon at 9:00am (beasue they don't open any sooner) and leave by 12:00pm so that we can be back to the hotel room (or venue) for make-up applications starting at 1pm. Make-up will be done by 3:00pm and pictures with the girls will be from 3:30-5:00pm, ceremony starts at 6:00pm.
But here is how it really happened:
(yes, THIS happens to A LOT of brides frequently)
You met your bridal party at the salon by 9:00 am, and they had 3 stylists working. The salon told you beforehand that they would be sure to have everyone done by 12:00 but by 11:00 the salon realized they miss-booked by overbooking your party between normal Saturday clients (cut and color).
The salon works very quickly to get everyone completed. By Noon there are still 3 people that need hair done, OH NO. You leave, but you don't get back to the hotel until 2:00pm (now your time-line is one hour behind) everyone is rushing around trying to work with the make-up artist to insure make-up is completed (Keep in mind the MUA is a little frustrated becasue she had been sitting at the venue for an hour just waiting for you) By 4:00 everyone starts to get dressed, you are all ready for pictuers by 4:45pm. Not only have you been feeling stressed out BUT you lost time for photos before the ceremony, and you look around to see that 1/2 of your bridal partie's hair is already starting to COME UNDONE!
Real questions to ask yourself:
WHY go through all of this for a stressful morning of running around and delaying your time-line on your wedding day? You can hire someone who can work side-by-side with a mke-up artist (working at the same time, switching off and on with each client) in the comfort of your venue with your friends. They will be able to customize the perfect schedule for you, starting however early that you need, ensuring maximum hair time for each person with no rushing. The bridal hair specialist will make sure that each hair style stays in place becasue they have experience working with updos and finishing work every weekend. This is not a waste of money but a smart decision.
The time to think:
When you are budgeting for your wedding, make sure you think first before you book a salon. Look at companies that specialize in bridal hair and finishing work on location. What bride really needs to stress on their wedding day???...She has already been doing that for 12 months!
