Wedding day mistakes to avoid part 1

Know your dress.

I will start with a recent wedding that we videotaped. We were at the reception. I was downstairs (along with the guests) waiting on the wedding party to be announced. They were each to be announced as they walk down the stairs into the main hall where we were all waiting.  After 15 minutes of waiting, I decided to go see what was taking them so long. Apparently they couldn't bustle her wedding dress.  The mother was in a panic. I hated to see that. It was such a special day and she's frantic; the daughter was starting to panic too. The mother was reprimanding herself for not paying close enough attention when they were at the store. They were shown how to bustle the dress but they had other things on their mind and weren't paying close attention. Think about it. It's your wedding; there are so many tasks ahead. So much planning, it seemed like such a simple task. Just tie up the dress using the attached straps. They never did get the dress bustled. They had to pin it up, but that didn't last either. It fell during the first dance between the bride and groom. She was a good spirit though. She held it up with her hands as they danced.   It's just one more thing that could have been avoided with proper planning.
