Webster Tarpley, 9/11 conspiracy proponent and expert on false flag government terrorism, offered a scathing critique of Congressman Ron Paul, free trade and Roosevelt "New deal" critics during a recent broadcast of his radio show.. Tarpley, author of several books including 9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA, Barack H. Obama: The Unauthorized Biography, and George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography
began by discussing Obama's job summit and offering his own solutions, which would include nationalization and massive government programs.
In the second hour of the December 5, 2009 show World Crisis Radio, which can be heard in it's entirety here, Tarpley took issue with some of Ron Paul's statements to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
"The federal government has no role in government and health? Sorry my constitution says general welfare. The general welfare clause. The constitution belongs to us. Don't cede the constitution to the austrians. Mcculloch vs Maryland and a national bank of the Hamiltonian type is constitutional...the great nationist John Marshall of Virginia...
"The new deal, the parts of it that survived are also a matter of settled law... so the idea of tampering with that stuff ...is a decidely radical and reactionary move."
"So remember, the problem with economic theory is we've got the leftists are dominated by british economics...Malthus, Keynes, and the rest of that... Marx.. British. On the other side we've got the Austrians and their deflationary theories. We want to go right down the middle.. The American system of political economy.
Governor Winthrop of Massachusetts; Benjamin Franklin. Alexander Hamilton... Abraham Lincoln, the populists.. Franklin D Roosevelt and the new deal and Kennedy. That's the American system; that's what built the United States, not this free market claptrap. and by the way, we're sick of free trade. We want to get some jobs? it's beginning to dawn on some people...10 per cent protective tarrif across the boards.. no more free trade. The Austrian critique of free trade is that its not free enough.
they want no regulation.... nothing to protect you... again the Austrian demand always comes down to 'let the full fury of the depression be visited on the naked flesh of the American people for the sake of the market and then mysteriously magically the invisible hand of the market will come along.'"
Tarpley then moves on to the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day Dec 7th but focuses on a speech given December 11, 1941 "when Hitler declared war on the United States four days after Pearl Harbor". He then discusses 'The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany by William L. Shirer' and a speech given by Hitler which begins on page 897 of the book.
Tarpley continues, "The point that i want to make about this,... the critique of Franklin D.Roosevelt developed by Hitler is the same one you will hear from so many libertarians and so-called libertarian republicans today. And that is first of all that Franklin D. Roosevelt is responsible for the Japanese attack on the United States; thats what Hitler says, and that the new deal is a failure. a couple samples of this...
Tarpley continues to address Hitler's critque of the New Deal and how "many respected Americans" agreed with Hitler's view: "The big attack here is on the New Deal. Roosevelets new deal legislation was all wrong. .. he would have faced a criminal charge of delibarate waste of national wealth ... and would have faced a charge of criminal business methods...
There was a resistance in the United States by the Roosevelt haters, the pro nazis, the pro fascists. the new deal was spurious,... 'the world jewish conspiracy' the spurious nonsense of Hitler."

Free trade is a scourge for the working-class majority. It's great for corporations because it forces all workers into one economic market while at the same time, leaving them separated by national borders. This means that workers from different countries can be forced to compete for jobs, but because of the borders, it's difficult for them to form international unions. The movement of goods and currency is free, but workers are trapped within their own countries. We are threatened with job losses if we don't accept lower and lower wages, if we don't accept the relentless erosion of our living conditions. Free trade is great for corporations.
I listened to Tarpley and googled Hitler's complete speech. I undestood Tarpley as free market ideology suits the purposes equally of a fascist state and an ideal competitive system, especially when it is far from the reality.
It would undoubtedly be in the "general welfare" to hang everyone employed by government at any level, but that wouldn't make it right or "Constitutional".
Hilary- Where "corporations" exist, "free trade" does not. Where "national borders", exist "free trade" does not. Free trade is anathema to corporations and governments, since they are really one and the same.
Workers are hardly "trapped" within their own borders. Hell, Hong Kong is the most free-trade nation in the world and they're doing fine with the workers enjoying an incnreasing standard of living and it was free trade that created the growth spurt of the late middle ages. It was the destruction of free trade that helped turn the recession of 1929 into a Great Depression. As for the "American System". The system of FDR, Hamilton, etc. is what the American Revolution was largely fought to overthrow. And the right is hardly dominated by Austrians in regards to economic theory. It was Nixon who said, "We are all Keynesians now." Only Ron Paul is an Austrian.
And let's also screw this "general welfare cause". Any kind of evil, no matter how severe, can be justified by "the general welfare".
Before commenting on two competing issues, the rule of decency require any average intelligent person to educate himself! We had a great depression in 1920 that the media often neglects to mention. The government didn't intervene into the economy, thus allowing uncompetitive wasteful companies to be flushed out of the system and a deflationary recovery to ensue. The roaring 20s were "en marche"!
The relation between the austrian economic policies and Hitler are beyond insulting to any logical mind. It was after all Karl Menger, the founder of the Austrian school who predicted that as Europe was slowly falling into collectivism, wars and human suffering will ensue at a larger scale. Mises and Hayek and many Austrians also predicted the great depression and Mises fled Austria before Hitler's "welcomed" reunification with Austria!
Lately once again, the Austrians and Ron Paul have predicted our current economic calamities and ineffective government policies!
Ron Paul is Liberty!
Although I respect Tarpley's opinions, I strongly disagree with him regarding the "general welfare clause". This clause has been used by our federal government (and the interests that run it) to expand its powers over every aspect of our lives. Ron Paul is simply saying that our Constitution does not allow the FEDERAL Govt that power. However all powers not delegated to the Federal govt by our Constitution are reserved for the states and people... If the state governments want to provide a medical plan, so be it....
Also, Ron Paul has stated many times that we would have to slowly ween ourselves off the fiat monetary system. To do so overnight would be suicide. Besides gradually abolishing the Fed, he has proposed legislation to eliminating legal tender laws and taxes on gold and silver to bring competition into our monetary system. The free market would put the fed out of business because people would rather have money that maintains value!!!
