Webinar '5 Critical Attributes for Special Librarians' to Feature Kate Arnold

EOS International will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. (Pacific Summer Time) / 2:30 p.m. (Eastern Summer Time), featuring guest speaker Kate Arnold, 2014 SLA President, the Carlsbad, California-based library vendor announced on Monday, August 4, 2014. This special webinar is titled “5 Critical Attributes for Special Librarians to Evolve and Stay Relevant.”

“Between Google circumventing in-depth research, dealing with budget constraints, understanding the changes driving customer behavior, and other challenges, librarians are facing a new world in which they must be adaptive,” EOS International stated in a press release.

The webinar will feature findings from a study co-authored by the Financial Times and the Special Library Association (S.L.A.), of which Kate Arnold was a chief participant. Drawing from her experience as S.L.A. President in 2014, many years as a professional in special libraries, and findings of this study, the event will focus on five essential attributes responsive special librarians are making in an ever-changing landscape, according to EOS.

“We’re excited to have Kate Arnold speak at this webinar,” said Robert Storer, Marketing Manager at EOS. “I think it’s really great for the community. It’s a good opportunity for librarians to benefit from her 20 years of experience as a special librarian, whether they’re part of SLA or not. This is a unique opportunity to get the nuts and bolts of the changes and adaptability needed to stay relevant—and it’s from an industry thought-leader.”
