This column has been following the women of Webcor from their great showing at the Amgen Tour this year. This team has done very well over the course of this past racing season. It's not over yet for them though.
Joëlle Numainville (Montreal, QC) will be riding for Canada in the road race at the 2010 UCI Road World Championships in Melbourne, Australia, from September 29th to October 3rd. Numainville is the 2010 Road Canadian Champion. Along with her, teammate Erinne Willock (Vancouver, BC) will also ride in the road race. These two ladies in green have been racing very well all season, and the Canadian team is betting that they will help produce podium finishes for the team. Webcor race director Karen Brems agrees with that asessment.
Along with berths on the Canadian team, two Webcor riders have been named to the US team for the Worlds. 2008 Time Trial World Champion Amber Neben will be leading the charge for the time trial, with teammate Katheryn Mattis putting her talents towards the same goal. The strength of Webcor throughout the last season was the overall team spirit and focus of these professional women riders. Northern California is fortunate to have this world class team riding to wins all over the globe.
