Amazing how since Web 2.0, bloggers have been springing up everywhere. Only thing is, we still do not have the exact birthday date. Maybe we could make that day BLOG DAY an official holiday? Was it in August 23rd or 24th or was it in September?
For sure many would love to know when the original candles were blown so we could join in the sing along http://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewpoetry.asp?AuthorID=975&id=117374" O Happy B Day Blogger http://buzz.blogger.com/2009/08/blogger-is-turning-10.html Blogger Buzz can keep us posted on news about your BIG 014 but you need to visit or subscribe to the http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogger/WZDh Blogger Buzz feed.
The number of bloggers in the U.S. has increased over the past 5 years, yet writers with their primary source of income from blogs are still relatively few in relation to the overall U.S. blogging population.
According to http://blogging.org blogging.org, as of 2012, there is an overall total of 31 million bloggers in the U.S. of which 35% (10.85 million) are using Blogger. This overall estimate represents a 37% increase from 5 years ago when in 2007, Jonathan Adler of the http://online.wsj.com/home-page Wall Street Journal an estimated 22.6 million bloggers in the US.
Unfortunately even though bloggers with primary source of incomes from blogging increased nearly 450% in the past 5 years -- to 8% (2.48 million) from less than a quarter of 1% (.02% or 452,000 bloggers) in 2007 -- the representation is very insignificant compared to the remaining 28,520,000 bloggers who are unable to earn a minimal income from blogging.
Worth mentioning is that total worldwide internet users have increased 51% over the past 3 years -- from 1.6 billion in 2009 to 2.41 billion in 2012. United States internet users were estimated at 108.1 million in 2000 and as of June 2012 http://www.internetworldstats.com/top20.htm Internet World Stats reported at 251.7 million, an increase of 127% from 12 years ago with a country ranking of 2 at 10.2% of the 2.41 billion world internet user population with China ranking 1st at 22% (538 million users) of total 2.42 billion world internet users and India 3rd at 5.7% (or 137 million users).
