DeVanity is an award-winning web series created and based in Los Angeles. It is the soapy story of a family owned multimillion dollar jewelry dynasty run by Jason DeVanity (played by creator Michael Caruso). Viewers can watch all four seasons of the show at

At the top of its game DeVanity recently aired its final episode. We caught up with creator/star Michael Caruso. Here is what he had to say about the show.

Flo DiBona: You recently aired the last DeVanity episode and it sounded like an emotional time for you. How are you?

Michael Caruso: It was an emotional time for me, and to be perfectly honest it still is. It's like saying goodbye to a good friend or family member. I'm doing really well though. I think as more time goes by it will get easier. I have days where I really miss it, and I others where I'm at peace with the fact that it's over.

FD: For readers who may not be familiar can you briefly describe the premise of the series?

MC: DeVanity is a soap opera about the DeVanity family which controls a powerful jewelry empire In downtown LA, and their assorted scandals. Think a modern 80's prime time soap.

FD: What inspired you to create DeVanity?

MC: I was tired of waiting for my phone to ring. I wanted to create the kind of show I have always wanted to be on, so instead of waiting for someone to give me an opportunity, I decided to create one for myself. Best decision I ever made.

FD: Once you get over the adjustment of ending DeVanity are their more projects on the horizon?

MC: Yes. Currently I'm developing a project, which I am getting incredibly excited about, but it is going to be a while. My nerves are way too shot to jump into producing a new show right now, and I am going to have to build a new team from scratch so I don't want to rush into anything.

FD: Michael thank you so much for sharing time with our readers. We look forward to hearing about your next project.

MC: Thank you for the questions, and thank you to all the loyal and wonderful viewers of DeVanity who stuck by us. You mean the world to me and I will never forget all the love you have shown us.
