Weather map at 2PM Sunday (Courtesy UCAR)
A quasi-stationary front continues to be draped just north of the hoosier state today and will remain in the region for the next several days. A few pieces of minor upper level energy will move along/atop the front over the next few days, but are not expected to produce any all-day rain situations. Meanwhile, with the front to our north, very warm conditions will continue.
The overall pattern, known as a "rex block", has a large dome of high pressure over the southeastern US, while an amplifying trough will continue to slowly push into the west. The high to our south will push all of this energy up and around the northern periphery, which should keep our area very warm and mostly dry for the foreseeable future.

A look at the long range....
Temperatures will be a bit cooler Friday with a chance of thunderstorms. Too early to tell if strong storms will be possbile. This will be with the passage of a weak cold front, which will only drop our daily high/low temperatures by aroudn 8-10 degrees for a few days, as daily highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s will be the rule for next weekend. This would probably be a good time for local farmers to begin planting, as no freezing temperatures are anticipated through at least late April.
