Weather forces huge class C games to be rescheduled

The Bucksport, Orono, George Stevens, Central, and Penquis boys basketball teams are battling for tournament position in class C.

They were all scheduled to finish their regular season on Wednesday evening.

The winter storm that hit Maine forced those schools and others to reschedule their games for later in the week.

Orono will now host Bucksport in their regular season finale on Thursday evening. The game can be heard live on 620 AM and

It is a huge game for both teams.

Bucksport will clinch a home preliminary round game in the class C tournament with a victory.

With a win, Orono would put themselves in great position to host a prelim game next week.

Central will now host George Stevens on Friday evening.

Central still has an opportunity to host a prelim game next week. George Stevens needs a win to have a chance to grab one of the 11 tournament spots in class C.

Penquis will play their regular season finale on Thursday evening, when they travel to Lincoln for a contest against Mattanawcook.

The Patriots are looking to finish their season with a win and grab a spot in the quarterfinals at Cross Insurance Center.

The MDI at John Bapst boys game has been rescheduled for Thursday evening.

The Trojans will finish their regular season on Friday evening at home against Ellsworth.
