The discussion was scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., or about one hour and 30 minutes before the start time for the ceremony (WEAR-TV and other ABC stations were set to broadcast activities related to the ceremony as part of the network TV program "Oscars Red Carpet Live" scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and end by 7:30 p.m.). Internet users would be able to join Nafeesa DeFlorias's discussion by visiting the "Red Carpet Live Chat" section of the official World Wide Web site for WEAR-TV.
