Wear Pink: October is breast cancer awareness month!

It will come as no surprise to you that one of my favorite colors is pink.  I wear it year-round, however, the month I am most proud to sport the radiant hue is October.

October has become known as breast cancer awareness month.

And while it is always important to give money to various research funds throughout the entire calendar year, retailers across the country have made it exceptionally easy to give during this particular month.

No matter where you shop (grocery stores, sporting good stores, Target, Nordstrom, Dillard's, Macy's, etc.), you will find a plethora of goods with pink ribbons adorned.  By purchasing one of the emblazoned items, a portion of the proceeds will go toward breast cancer research and you will walk away feeling better about spending a few extra bucks!

The following items are some of my favorites (found in the October issue of Self magazine) that benefit breast cancer research.  From shirts, shoes, umbrellas and jewelry to handbags and even a toothbrush, there is a little something for everybody!
