"We don't want to tell people what to do, but we want to make sure they know they have a choice," Justin Oliver told the Dallas Morning News.
"The body scanners are criminally invasive. They’re borderline pornography," Katy Hamilton told Channel 11 News in a video that accompanies this report.
Justin and Katy take their freedoms seriously.
They take their freedoms beyond thought and philosophy and debate.
They take their freedoms personally and they frequently take their freedoms to the streets.
Justin Oliver and Katy Hamilton are regular visitors to the Tarrant County Justice Center in downtown Ft. Worth where they station themselves at a busy intersection and distribute Fully Informed Jury Association literature in the hopes of educating their fellow citizens in the ways of freedom and personal responsibility.
They can be found at End the Fed rallies and tax protests and immigration demonstrations and marijuana marches and ending eminent domain workshops or just quietly collecting food donations for Union Gospel Mission to demonstrate what freedom and personal responsibility can accomplish.
On Wednesday, November 24, they joined the nationwide We Won’t Fly National Opt Out Day campaign against intrusive and potentially dangerous "porno-scanners" and abusive physical pat-downs imposed on the flying public by agents of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
They carried the message of freedom and personal responsibility into the heart of Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport where they picketed with signs and handed out fliers to fliers.
"Overall, the response was positive," Oliver told the Dallas Libertarian Examiner. "Many of the passengers, valets and others who worked inside the airport gave us nods of approval."
While the national media declared the Opt Out "a bust" (wewontfly.com claims "Record 92% of travelers choose to NOT fly") The Dallas Morning News, CBS 11, Fox 4, and Telemundo all showed up to cover the DFW event.
"The TSA makes air travel more dangerous by cutting passengers out of the security loop and creating a counter-productive illusion of security," Oliver told the Dallas Libertarian Examiner. "When it came to the underwear bomber and the shoe bomber, passengers have been the best line of defense."
People have many things for which to be thankful on this Thanksgiving weekend.
Libertarians can be thankful for people like Justin and Katy and their friends.

Amen. Thanks for their service.
Good ideas here.
OPT OUT WORKS-KEEP IT UP through New Years Day.
The TSA Opt Out Day Protest Worked Beautifully And Caused TSA To Change Its Body Scanner Policy for the day. Reports from around the country indicate that TSA primarily used metal scanners. At many airports the body scanners were turned off. Passengers did not have to make a choice between the body scanners or a pat down. TSA changed its methods to marginalize the Opt Out protests and the Major Media who wanted it to fail from the get go are pretending absolutely nothing happened. One day protests are difficult, But TSA BLINKED!
Citizens participating in Opt Out Day were told that "The Safe and Legal Way for Airline Travelers to Protest TSA Scanner Radiation Is To Just "politely" Opt for the Pat Down. Don't make a fuss", so no one including media would know that they were protesting while in the screening line. They just made a choice not to be harmed by the radiation of the scanner.
