We the Kings, the power pop band from Florida, celebrated their new album Smile Kid with a CD release party in New York City last night. Know for their breakout hit, “Check Yes Juliet” the guys are back with another CD that has their fans extremely excited. MTV Buzzworthy blog was on-hand to provide updates during their concert, which was streamed live on the web for a live chat for fans.

New CD

During the concert, MTVBuzzwortthy reported celebrity sightings of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy and David Cook. They event posted a few pictures of both Pete and David. Its nice to see such big names around to support We the Kings.

Release parties for new albums seem to be on the rise as a way for bands to get people excited about their new records. With many dealing with dwindling record sales, this seems like a great opportunity to kick off promotion for a new record. David Cook also held a CD release party in NYC to celebrate his release over a year ago. It was also very smart to have fan interaction online where they were able to watch the show live online. On this day and age of immediacy, you can’t get more immediate that that.

The We the Kings new album Smile Kid is available for streaming on AOL Music and the guys have put together a very good album. They have stayed true to their power pop sound. They have a songcalled "In-and-Out (Animal Style)"  paying tribute to Los Angeles franchise In & Out Burger which is kind of awesome. Check out their CD; it is full of surprises.
