"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"

Since liberals are so keen on not discriminating against anyone, and allowing freedom of speech and freedom of expression, it comes as quite a surprise to learn that our friend State Senator Stacey Campfield was thrown out of a restaurant-the so-called "Bistro at the Bijou" because the owner of that establishment, Martha Boggs, called him a "f*&%in' homophobe (a made-up Leftist pseudo-Marxist word which has crept its way into our vocabulary which, if it were used correctly, would translate from the Greek meaning "fear of the same thing")." Apparently, Ms. Boggs didn't care for Campfield's comments with regard to homosexuality, bullying, and Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome after Campfield was asked to appear on a homosexual radio program on Sirius Satellite Radio this past week.

Of course, since this writer believes that a business owner ought to have the right to do business or not do business in the way they might choose, we uphold Ms. Boggs' right to throw Campfield out of her establishment, thereby also losing the business of the compatriots who were with him. We are compelled to ask, however, what the reaction from our friends on the Left would be were the tables turned. What if Campfield were a prominent homosexual rights activist? Perhaps he might an open advocate for so-called "gay marriage," while, in our reverse scenario, Ms. Boggs were a Christian business owner who did not wish to be seen associating with someone engaging in activity she viewed as openly sinful and promoting political and social ideas related to the open sin that were repulsive and contrary to everything she stood for. As a result of this then, she asked Campfield to leave? The so-called "gay community" would be in outrage, they would be filing complaints to the State and federal government, shouting discrimination, and using the made-up word "homophobe" on Ms. Boggs.

The reality is that the Left are the purveyors of the dictatorship of relativism. You must believe as they do and embrace the moral relativism which they have spent the past half-century or more watering down our society with, or otherwise you are unworthy to be treated as a citizen. Dignity then, to the Left, applies only to those who embrace the twisted moral and social universe which the Left has created.

What is most entertaining is the reality that these people are insuring that Stacey Campfield remains in East Tennessee politics for as long as he wishes. East Tennessee is still, at its heart, a generally conservative place, and Campfield's outspoken views and excellent campaigning win him election again and again in Knox County. Each time some clueless liberal like Ms. Boggs throws Stacey out of their business because they don't like his views, they validate the ideas he puts forth about the Left. Each time a liberal activist has Stacey on their radio or television show in some cheap attempt to berate him, it ends up making Stacey Campfield appear as though he were Daniel deliberately going into the lions' den, or David going up against Goliath of Gath on purpose-it is Campfield who looks to his conservative electorate like the man of courage willing to go into the very devil's mouth to take on the political Left.

Ms. Boggs may have done more to help Stacey Campfield's 2014 re-election campaign than anything Campfield himself could possibly have done.
